The decision to purchase a particular piano should never be based exclusively on cosmetic
condition; however, in a market where everyone is looking for a "deal," we strive to locate ultra high
because of minor cosmetic issues.

That said, it is truly a pleasure to be able to have found this 40" Steinway & Sons console.

This is what I call a "Ray Charles" piano because it is best judged with your eyes closed!

This instrument plays as you would expect a Steinway to play, and the new owner will receive
years of playing pleasure.

The piano was purchased by its original owner in Eugene, OR at Tallman's, and has remained in
Eugene since new.  Unfortunately, while tuning and regular maintenance were maintained (as
witnessed by the playability of the instrument), the original owner's daughter had it for several years
- but who did not play - and it apparently used more as a plan stand than a piano.

Kind of a sad state of affairs "cosmetically;" however, it does open the opportunity for someone
new to invest in and appreciate a truly wonderful instrument.

Aside from the cosmetic irregularities shown, the piano really only shows normal signs of
cosmetic wear. The action is clean and without rust and the pins are tight. The strings are without
major oxidation and no rust and sound good.
The bass remains vibrant and clear.

We estimate that a complete cabinet refinish job would run about $1500.  Inasmuch as the last
Model F we sold for $4896, we have discounted this piano that amount (plus a little more), to allow
someone the option of refinishing it or not.

The keys are all original and in exceptional condition showing no signs of chips or cracks.

Also included is the original matching bench which also shows only signs of normal wear.
